  2. Truth is very abstract concept, we can never be sure if our truth is someone else's truth. Is God symbol of the truth or of our faith, what do you think?

  3. In my opinion, if truth is subjective and relative then it has no meaning. There are many absolute empirical truths out there; acceleration due to gravity on Earth is 9.8 m/sec2, you can choose not to believe it at your own risk. Your second comment sounds a lot like, "Is man merely a mistake of God's? Or God merely a mistake of man's?" Friedrich Nietzsche. If God is merely a symbol, then our faith is worthless, we may as well have faith in unicorns or fairies. If Christ was not the son of God, if he was not crucified and buried only to rise 3 days later, then we have nothing. Without the resurrection there is no redemption, without redemption there is no point to Christianity. While I cannot prove with absolute empirical certainty all of the Biblical truths, I can prove them enough that I am certain of their truth.

  6. Truth is something really abstract nowadays!Anyone has his own idea of his own truth, people are somehow ugly inside and do not really care about others and everything that matters is their own truth!

  7. @Val83 - That sounds lovely, but makes no sense. Choosing to deny reality is like covering your eyes and expecting that no one can see you. Your acceptance of reality does not influence reality. Fill a glass with water, stick your finger in, then remove it. regardless of whether you accept it or not, you will not leave a hole in the water.

@Lorna - I agree. Moral relativism leads to a very harsh and cruel world. It is the ultimate selfishness

  8. The truth is what you want to believe is true, don't you agree?

  9. Notions like truth and reality are only perceivable through our senses and rest on hypothesis that we've created. So, in this line of thought, truth is abstract.
